Position Overview
DroneXperts is seeking experienced and passionate instructors to deliver specialized drone training courses. The ideal candidates will bring both technical expertise and an engaging teaching style to help students master drone operation, FAA regulations, and real-world applications. This role offers flexible part-time hours with opportunities to teach face-to-face, hybrid, or online courses.
Compensation
Percentage-Based Pay: Instructors will earn a fair percentage of the per-student course fees, based on the number of students who attend the course. Actual percentages will reflect instructor experience, course complexity, and market rates.
Commission: Instructors will receive a fair commission for selling drones, cameras, and accessories during courses or related consultations.
Example: Commission rates could range from 3% to 8% of equipment sales.
This pay structure offers motivated instructors significant earning potential based on course participation and sales performance.
Courses to Be Taught
Instructors may teach one or more of the following courses:
FAA Part 107 Certification Course (Face-to-Face / Online)
Commercial Applications of Drones (Hybrid / Online)
Agriculture Drones & Sensors (Hybrid / Online)
First Responder Drones & Sensors (Hybrid)
Aerial Photography and Videography (Hybrid / Online)
Mechanics of Drones (Hybrid / Online)
Key Responsibilities
Deliver course materials effectively in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online environments.
Provide hands-on drone operation training as required.
Prepare course presentations, activities, and supplemental learning resources.
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and safety standards during instruction.
Assess and provide constructive feedback on student performance.
Promote and sell drones, cameras, and accessories to interested students.
Assist in refining course content to maintain relevance to evolving drone technologies.
Participate in occasional instructor meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
FAA Part 107 Certification (Required)
Demonstrated experience operating drones for professional or commercial purposes.
Prior teaching or training experience preferred (face-to-face, online, or hybrid).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with drone hardware, software, sensors, and related applications.
Industry-specific experience in agriculture, first responder operations, aerial photography, or drone mechanics is a plus.
Ability to travel to Elkader, Iowa, for face-to-face instruction (if applicable).
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in drone platforms (e.g., DJI, Pixhawk, etc.).
Experience with online learning platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, or similar).
Understanding of FAA and National Airspace System (NAS) regulations.
Ability to troubleshoot basic drone mechanical or technical issues.
Strong sales acumen for promoting drones and accessories.
